BOMA in Alberta helps develop new Real Estate Council of Alberta, Welcomes amendments in Bill 20
Bill 20 proposes a regulatory regime in Alberta that is more responsive to the public and better serves the industry in which it regulates. It addresses long lingering issues at RECA that successive provincial governments have acknowledged, and as such on behalf of the commercial real estate sector in Alberta we thank the province for their proposed action and urge all MLAs to support its passage through the legislature.

BOMA Calgary would like to commend the provincial government for their strong action in reforming the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) to be responsive to the public, and more relevant to the industries that it regulates.
Brookfield Takes Home 3 Awards at the 2018 TransCanada BOMA Excellence Awards
On Thursday May 3, BOMA Calgary hosted the 2018 TransCanada BOMA Excellence Awards at the Westin Calgary Hotel. The BOMA Excellence Awards recognize individual achievements as well as the teams that are responsible for high performing buildings in and around the Calgary area, no matter the size, age, or occupancy type. The best of the best in the industry were all there to celebrate their accomplishments. Brookfield team won the Property Management Team of the Year Award & Building Operations Team of the Year and Tom Kostek received the Building Operator of the Year Award.
Food & Yard Waste Bylaw Changes for Businesses & Organizations
Effective November 1, 2017, the Waste and Recycling Bylaw will require all businesses and organizations to separate food and yard waste from the garbage for composting or diversion.
