The Municipal Government Act is the enabling legislation for municipalities across Alberta and has significant consequences on the way cities plan development and tax their citizens and businesses.

On June 3, the 9^th Annual Calgary Real Estate Leasing Conference took place at the Telus Convention Centre. Focused on strategies, issues, practices and trends in real estate leasing for the office, industrial and retail markets, real estate professionals gained insight through round table discussions and a series of break out educational sessions.

When there are major incidents, such as high winds and floods, BOMA is quick to address the concerns. Two recent examples of this proactive initiative is the collaborative leadership role assumed by BOMA to address the negative impacts of sudden high wind incidents.

Are you one of the many Green Corps missing out on significant tax savings?

On April 2, two members of Oxford Properties Group’s operations team provided a tour for the BOMA Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Committee. This wasn’t the usual mechanical room tour, but in fact a tour of Oxford’s newly installed Cogeneration Unit in one of the towers at Centennial Place.

Next week,  City Council’s Transportation and Transit Committee will consider the proposed City Centre Cycle Track Network. Over the past 6 months, BOMA has engaged with our membership on this issue through surveys, industry specific information sessions with the City, information sharing through our weekly eNews, as well as discussion within the Government Affairs Committee.
