Advocacy Committee
Mission: The BOMA Advocacy Steering Committee represents and directs BOMA Calgary on municipal and provincial issues in the areas of tax, government affairs and codes and regulations.
Communications Committee
Mission: The BOMA Communications Committee communicates timely industry information and knowledge to members and BOMA’s publics.

- eNews – Continue to produce the weekly eNews
- BOMA Calgary News in Business in Calgary – Continue the partnership with BIC to publish the 12-16 page insert. Source for new stories and writers to contribute
- BOMA Building Guide – Enhance/Expand the accuracy of the BBG regional data. Enhance the targeted list for BBG Distribution. Discuss the merits of putting the BBG exclusively online
- Website – Review website – content, graphics and functionality.
Education
Mission: BOMA’s Education Committee will respond to the identified education needs of the commercial real estate industry by providing relevant, current and practical learning

- Implement courses: one FMA, one RPA elective and continue with Floor Measurement program
- Review courses offered through RECA and the REAP program
- Fulfill liaison role to the Building Operators Development Committee through reviews and recommendations
- Recruit instructors for courses
- Respond to any education needs on an opportunity basis
- Develop the BOMA Mentorship Program
- Assist in recruitment to the industry by raising awareness at high school and post-secondary career fairs
- Provide liaison between BOMI Canada and BOMA Canada
- Proactively recruit and maintain relationships with other organizations
Energy, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety Committee
Mission: The mission of the Environmental Health and Safety Committee is to proactively represent, educate and advise the membership of BOMA Calgary of EH&S issues that have the potential to affect property ownership and management.

- Develop succession plan through co-chair positions to be evaluated annually
- Continue to work with Alberta Government Partnerships Program, encouraging members to achieve COR
- Investigate project specific sub-committees in Energy,Water, OH&S and Waste Management
- Promote and support the BOMA BESt program
- Judge EARTH Award submissions
Events Committee
Mission: The Events Committee supports BOMA’s mission through recruitment of new members, retention of existing members, recognition of all members, and developing member involvement in the service region.

- Maintain balance of approximately 60% proprietary and 40% associate members
- Retain members through offering members-only functions
- Formalize entrance, member and exit surveys
- Define the value of BOMA membership
Golf Committee
Mission: The Committee will provide BOMA Calgary members the premier golf event for the commercial real estate industry in Canada.

Industry Standards & Recognition Committee
Mission: To provide a platform for recognition of industry members in areas of excellence in the industry and within the Association, and to promote high standards of performance.

- Conduct a successful Certificate of Excellence Awards Program
- Offer options for recognition of industry members and companies
Next Gen Committee
Mission: The Next Gen Committee will will pursue advocacy and education opportunities for young professionals in the commercial real estate industry. Members of this committee are 35 years of age and younger.
Objectives:
- Changing standards and practices in regards to young professionals
- Recruit young professionals into the industry in whatever ways possible, including awareness of the industry as a whole and specific marketing to young people
- Provide networking and professional development opportunities
Public Safety Committee
Mission: The Committee will address security and life safety matters associated with the commercial real estate industry through the following goals.

- Develop a close working relationship with public authorities
- Communicate with various emergency services
- Disseminating pertinent information to members and community
- Facilitate emergency communications
- Facilitate training in areas of public safety and security
Supporting Member Council
Mission: Determine ways in which Associate Members, as a group, may enhance the value of BOMA membership to all members of the Association.
