Event Recap: 2016 BOMA Golf Classic

With 47 weeks left until the next ENMAX BOMA Calgary Golf Classic, and considering this year’s event sold out in less than 10 minutes, it would be prudent to put it in your calendar soon as the countdown has begun.

With my team and I winning a prize for coming in absolutely dead last place, despite the reality that the PGA tour won’t be in any of our futures any time soon, we couldn’t have asked for a better day and had an absolutely amazing time together; that’s what this tournament is all about.   The Golf Classic is both a goodbye to summer, and a kickoff to getting back to work with one last hoorah where we do our best to temporarily ignore the multitudeof emails and voicemail, and focus on having a great time with fellow BOMA members.golf1

Set at the stunning Priddis Greens Golf and Country Club, with breathtaking views, a well-manicured course and fantastic service, it’s no wonder why BOMA Calgary chose this venue again for the coveted Texas Scramble style tournament.  Fortunately, despite a brief spot of hail (less than a minute), the weather held out and we were all able to finish our game in time to head back in to the clubhouse for a prime rib dinner and the prizes that we all have heard so much about.  Mountain bikes, Apple Tv’s and distance finders for those who take golf seriously, there was something for everyone including a customized bottle of wine with your team photo to take home.

Finally, it has to be mentioned that there was a combined total of raised $14,695 for BOMA Calgary Foundation, nicely done fellow BOMA members!

But none of this could have been done without Aydan and the Golf Committee as this event was the culmination of months’ worth of work, and everything went off without a hitch.  I for one am most definitely looking forward to the 2017 ENMAX BOMA Calgary Golf Classic.
