About

BOMA Calgary’s mission is to actively represent its members on matters affecting the ownership and management of commercial properties.

Established in 1959, BOMA Calgary is an industry association that promotes the professional standards of commercial building ownership and property management. BOMA is a member-driven, committee-run organization that is locally autonomous and independent, and is incorporated as a not-for-profit entity under the Societies Act of Alberta. BOMA Calgary is affiliated with BOMA Canada, a body that represents the industry nationally, and is federated with BOMA International, headquartered in Washington, D.C. This 19,000 member organization represents building industry groups around the world.

Governance

BOMA Calgary is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected on a three year term by the membership at its Annual Meeting in January of each year. A third of the Board is elected annually. The President & CSO is a member ex-officio on the Board. See the 2012 Board of Directors! The Board meets monthly. In addition, BOMA has a number of committees chaired by members and appointed by the President.
