- Team Scoring by "Ace Tournament Services"
The following is the formula used by ACE Tournament Services to allow teams with higher handicaps to compete with the lower handicapped teams:
- 30% of the lowest handicap
- 10% of the second lowest handicap
- 4% of the third lowest handicap
- 1% of the highest handicap on the team
For example:
- Player 1 is an 8 handicap x30% = 2.40
- Player 2 is a 20 handicap x 10% = 2.00
- Player 3 is a 28 handicap x 4% = 1.12
- Player 4 is an 36 handicap x 1% = 0.36
- Team handicap is 5.88
- This amount gets subtracted from the team gross score.

- How do I Register? Click on the registration button on the BOMA Calgary Site www.boma.ca.
- When do I have to pay? You have a couple of options. You can register online and pay through our secure site by VISA or MasterCard. Members may request an invoice. But, we must receive your payment by close of business on 31 July 2008 failing which your golf place will be relinquished and assigned to a player from the wait list. All golfers must have paid in advance of the tournament in order to play.
- How will I know I am confirmed? A: We will notify you by email. We expect the teams to be confirmed about 2 weeks in advance, and will be posted on the website.
- What happens if I am placed on the waitlist? Our experience has been that we have been able to move nearly everybody from the waitlist. If a place opens up we go through the waitlist in chronological order. If you receive a call you may accept but we must have your payment by credit card at the time of this confirmation. If you do not accept, we move to the next person in sequence. A second consideration is to show up at Kananaskis on the golf day. There are often no-shows, and if there are spaces available then you can play. You will be asked for a credit card payment before you play.
- What happens if I have registered and my plans change and I can't attend? A: Let us know as soon as possible. Refunds will be provided according to the cancelation policy. Make sure you read it and understand. If you cancel before 12:00 noon MDT on 19 August 2008, you will receive a full refund less a $50 administration fee. After 12:00 noon MDT 19 August there will be no refunds.
- I have some friends/clients that I want to golf with, can you assure us that we can? A: Maybe. We try to balance the teams in terms of abilities and a number of other factors with a view to facilitating networking. While we will consider such requests we do not make any promise that they can be accomodated.
- What can you tell me about the weather? A: Kananaskis is in the Rocky Mountains. In September the weather is generally nice. We have never in our history of having tournaments had to cancel. But, it is fall and it is the mountains. The weather can turn suddenly and dramatically. Be prepared for four seasons as it really, really, really can happen in the space of a few hours. Check the Weather.
- Can I rent clubs? A: Yes. Kananaskis is a public course, but it is one of the best on the continent. It is a full service facilities and you can rent full or half sets of Calloway clubs and others. The course has about 65 sets of clubs available. If in doubt call the proshop in advance. 1-877-591-2525
