Graffiti Vandalism Prevention – Public Information Session
Event hosted by the Calgary Police Service, District 1
Monday, June 14, 2010, 7 p.m., at the Western Canada High School theatre – 641 17 Ave., S.W.
Learn about what graffiti vandalism is, including some of the motivating factors, the important role of the community in managing the graffiti issue, and programs available to victims of graffiti vandalism.
Guest speakers will include representatives from agencies such as Calgary Police Service, The City of Calgary Animal and Bylaw Services and Calgary Transit.
Topics will include the importance of reporting graffiti, how to report it, graffiti abatement programs and funding, trends, enforcement costs, how to recognize if your child is a tagger and much more.
Businesses, security professionals, parents, youth and the general public are all invited to attend.
Graffiti vandalism affects the entire community by creating a perception of crime in the area, which can determine whether people feel safe within their own neighbourhood.
Come out and learn how to become a part of the solution to deal with this crime.
